Amherst Railroad Hobby Show

After a few years' hiatus, the Athearn crew was back to West Springfield Massachusetts for the Amherst Railroad Hobby Show. This year in attendance was Athearn Category Manager, Mark Williams, Athearn Lead Developer, Jon Stackpole, and Associate Brand Manager, Jim Wiggin.

The weather was a mild 50 degrees which really boosted the attendance to just over 23,000 attendees. Along with a booth full of recently available and soon-to-be available models, Athearn made an announcement live of the brand new Athearn Genesis HO and N scale FreightCar America’s Versacoil. This modern coil car was a huge hit with those in attendance as well as those who watched the live feed. Jon also brought along some much-anticipated samples such as a brand-new model, the Athearn HO 60’ Container, the newly re-tooled Athearn HO FMC 5347 boxcar, and the recently re-tooled Athearn Roundhouse F7.

The Athearn booth was busy with many Athearn Fans from the east coast and a lot of good comments were heard. Next stop for Athearn will be in Denver Colorado at the Rocky Mountain Train Show, April 1st & 2nd. See you there!
